Juliénas is a terroir of schist and blue stone. The same types of soils as on the Côtes de Brouilly and Côtes de Py. In general, these characteristics call for intense and full-bodied wines. At the estate, I prefer to highlight the finesse and elegance of the terroirs. My style of winemaking with short vatting, without punching down and just a few pumping overs, goes very well with this masculine appellation.
