Bader Mimeur Chateau De Chassagne Montrachet Rouge 2022

Bader Mimeur Chateau De Chassagne Montrachet Rouge 2022

Château de Chassagne-Montrachet dates back to the late Middle Ages. In the 17th century, it belonged to the last Lord of Chassagne, Sieur Clermont Montoison.

In 1919, Charles Mimeur acquired the historic vineyards, and the family continues to manage the estate until today. Today, the winery is run by Nathalie Bernard and Sébastien Fossier, who continue to evolve the estate in a family spirit, focusing on quality excellence both in the vineyards & in the cellar, with a strong ecological awareness

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundy, France. Vines from Domaine du Château de Chassagne-Montrachet. Clay-limestone soil

Taste Profile: Ruby red color with brilliant highlights. Attractive nose of Burlat cherries, with hints of white pepper and graphite. A structured, fruity attack on the palate, with great freshness. A well-balanced wine, still in its youth, to be drunk with roast meats

Winemaking Process: Harvested by hand only, in openwork crates of 15 KG. The bunches are cooled and 100% destemmed before vatting in wooden vats for 2 weeks. Cold pre-fermentation maceration before alcoholic fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Gentle extraction by alternating manual punch downs and pump overs. The wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels, of with 25% are new, then blended for 6 months in vats before bottling.
