Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are a very often blended together – they work together to produce a more complex wine. The richness of the Cabernet provides the structure for the wine, while the Merlot provides a soft, suppleness to round out the palate. Balgownie’s Black Label Cabernet Merlot has weight combined with a lovely depth of flavour and complexity. The wine has black currant, raisins, pepper and spice flavours balanced by the soft, plum roundness of the Merlot and a touch of oak.
