The luscious grapes used to produce Castle Rock Estate Chardonnay were fermented in old barrels, resulting in the creation of a pale straw coloured wine. The perfumed nose exudes scintillating aromas of grapefruit, nectarine, gun flint and honeycomb, with mealy tones from barrel fermentation evident throughout. These balanced fragrances shift to a generous palate laden with nectarine and grapefruit flavours, offering a great mouthfeel. Refreshing acidity drives the lush palate to a clean, crisp and lengthy finale. Made for consumption upon release, this delightful white wine can also be enjoyed after cellaring for a decade. Suggested food pairings include pork tenderloin, scallops with sesame ginger dressing, and vanilla pudding.
