Domaine de l'envol AOC Alsace Grand Cru Riesling Florimont 2019
A beautiful and elegant Riesling made from grapes grown in the Grand Cru vineyard Florimont. The grapes are cultivated 100% organically and biodynamically in a chalk and clay-rich soil, which contributes to the wine's wonderful, mineral expression.
The aroma is aromatic with notes of white flowers, bergamot, stone fruit, and citrus peel. The taste is beautifully balanced with notes of orange blossom, lemon peel, white peach, bergamot, and flint. The aftertaste is long with an exquisite mineral finish. Perfect as an aperitif, on the terrace, or paired with dishes such as grilled food, pasta, fatty fish, rice dishes, etc.
Domaine de l'Envol is located in the beautiful town of Colmar, in the heart of Alsace; a region that has alternated between French and German hands throughout history. The German influence is evident in everything from culture to gastronomy – and wine. Domaine de l'Envol was founded in 2016 and has, since the beginning, focused strongly on terroir-based wines, working from the highly varied soil. Natural production principles are used to achieve the purest expression and best reflection of the terroir. Domaine de l'Envol is the result of the merger of two former domains. The estate's vineyards cover 21 hectares and span a radius of 15 kilometers around the winery. This gives the family the opportunity to work with a range of different soil types and traditional Alsace grape varieties such as Riesling, Sylvaner, Muscat, and Gewürztraminer. All grapes are hand-harvested and spontaneously fermented, with only a touch of sulfur added during bottling. All vineyards are cultivated using organic and biodynamic principles.
