Domaine Matrot Auxey-Duresses Rouge 2022
The vineyard is located at the threshold of a valley between Meursault and Monthelie. This juice comes from old Pinot Noir vines aged 35 years. 100% destemmed, it is then vatting at 10Ā°C for 3 to 6 days. Fermentation lasts between 12 and 18 days. Punching down is carried out twice a day. This wine is aged for 15 months in barrels, 20% of which are new.
This appellation is still too rarely found on our tables, yet it deserves the honors, especially when you read on the label: Domaine Matrot. This 2022 is a real success that once again plays the card of elegance rather than opulence. Nose of intense black fruit, licorice, leather, and blond tobacco. On the palate, we find a beautiful acid/fat balance and a fine and elongated tannic structure.
