Frasqueiras Pereira D’Oliveira Tinta Negra Medium Sweet (bottled 2017, 20 yo) 1997

Spicy wood and dried fruit, greek honey, figs and baked earth on the nose. The palate has adobe, ripe straw, tobacco and earth and a fresh smooth mouthfeel of moderate glyceric power. Sweetness is sublimated (grapey and rich and just a bit sweet) and sits fair and square in the middle of the palate, with great tannin grip and draw and a lovely acid/old wood/spice length which releases a dried fruit perfume to finish.
