Gerard Duplessis Chablis 1Er Cru Fourchaume 2022
The Domaine GƩrard Duplessis Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2022 is an incredibly impressive, deeply structured Premier Cru Chardonnay. Sourced from two steep, south-facing parcels on notoriously rocky, stony soils, it is widely regarded as one of winemaker Lilian Duplessis' personal favorite crus.
Tasting Notes: Opens with a highly flinty, slightly stern bouquet that gradually unfolds into notes of bright citrus, crisp green apple, crushed almonds, and a faint hint of ripe honeysuckle.
Palate & Texture: The warm 2022 vintage lends a generous, supple weight and density to the medium-bodied palate. However, it retains excellent focus, showing immense poise and a powerful, mouthwatering saline minerality on the finish.
Winemaking: Adhering to the estate's certified organic protocols, the fruit undergoes native yeast fermentation and complete malolactic conversion in tank. It experiences gentle handling and ages for roughly a year in a combination of tank and neutral 500-liter French oak barrels.
