Kunstler Hochheim KirchenstĂŒck Gg Riesling Trocken 2021
KĂŒnstler owns 2.4 hectares of the historic KirchenstĂŒck vineyard in Hochheim, planted in 1969 and first mentioned in 1271 as Kirchanger (âparcel near a churchâ). This Grosse Lage site faces south and is sheltered by the village from cold northern winds, producing Rieslings of remarkable richness and balance. The soils vary across the vineyardâheavy limestone in some parts, loamy loess and light sand in othersâcontributing to both structure and finesse.
Hand-harvested grapes are destemmed, gently pressed, and fermented one-third in stainless steel and two-thirds in large old oak casks. After fermentation, the wine rests on fine lees in oak, adding texture and depth. The result is a powerful, layered Riesling that perfectly captures the siteâs mineral intensity and warmth.
