Louis Billard Gevrey-Chambertin "Regnard" 2023

The lieu-dit En Regnard is situated on the lower slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin, on soils of calcareous clay and ferrous marl. This subsoil provides structure, tension, and earthy depth. Moreover, the microclimate contributes to ripening while preserving freshness. In 2023, this again resulted in a ripe harvest with aromatic intensity and refined acidity. As a result, this wine displays a beautiful balance between power and precision.

Colour: Ruby red with deep shading

Nose: Concentrated aromas of black cherry, blackberry, violets, forest floor, and graphite

Taste: Firm and linear, with ripe black fruit, fresh acidity, and a mineral, earthy core

Finish: Long and precise, with ripe tannins, undergrowth, and a subtle smoky note
