Merriworth Wines 'Estate' Pinot Noir 2023
The 2023 vintage provided healthy winter and spring rains leading into a dry summer of sunny warm days, ideal for berry development. Perfect conditions continued through to harvest on 03 April 2023.
The wine comprises a blend of 50% whole-bunch fermented grapes (H7V15 clone) and the balance being machine crushed grapes (D5V12 clone). Following primary fermentation, the wine was racked to tank where it underwent a malolactic fermentation before being transferred to five-year-old French puncheons, and matured for six months. Blended and bottled in late October 2023.
