Mountadam ‘The Red’ Cab Sauv, Merlot & Cab Franc 2017

Mountadam Vineyards High Eden range is the selection of the best parcels of fruit from the Estate. ‘The Red’ has traditionally been a blend of the best Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Shiraz fruit from the Estate. In 2017 the best fruit from the Estate resulted in a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot. The Cabernet fruit was sourced entirely from the Reynell clone in block 21 on 26th April 2017 at 13.9 ºBe. The Merlot was sourced from block 35 on 18th April at 14.2 ºBe. The parcels were vinified separately in small closed static fermenters with the optimum blend being carried out post malolactic fermentation. Oak maturation was carried out in 100% new tight grain French oak barriques for a total 24 months.
