Mulline Single Vineyard Modewarre Pinot Noir 2025
Mullineās coolest and most coastal site, the Brown Magpie Vineyard in Modewarre sits just 20km inland from Torquay, close enough to the Southern Ocean that fruit is picked up to four weeks later than Mullineās other sites. That extended hang time allows the stems to ripen slowly, giving Ben the confidence to use a higher whole bunch component without overdoing it.
Each clone handpicked and fermented separately with varying whole bunch levels ranging from 0% to 100%, with the final blend sitting at 60%. Wild yeast fermentations in open vats, 9 to 14 days on skins, 25% new French oak, bottled unfined with minimal filtration.
Black plum, raspberry, rose bush and white pepper on the nose. Concentrated and dense on the palate, with chewy tannins that signal real ageing potential. A wine that will keep getting better over the next six to eight years.
