Prophets Rock Cuvee Aux Antipodes Pinot Noir 2021
Prophets Rock Cuvée Aux Antipodes Pinot Noir 2021 is an exceptional collaboration between Prophet’s Rock winemaker Paul Pujol and renowned Burgundian vigneron François Millet, former cellar master of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé. Produced from a single Pinot Noir parcel in the estate’s Home Vineyard in Bendigo, the wine reflects a uniquely Burgundian interpretation of Central Otago terroir. The vineyard's ancient clay, schist, quartz, and chalk-rich soils contribute remarkable structure, minerality, and finesse.
The 2021 vintage reveals intricate aromas of spiced cherry, red plum, dried herbs, alpine mint, black tea, rose petal, and subtle tapenade. On the palate, it is intensely detailed and layered, combining vibrant red fruit with savoury complexity, fine-grained tannins, and crystalline acidity. The winemaking is deliberately gentle, with indigenous yeast fermentation, minimal extraction, and 17 months maturation in French oak barrels, preserving elegance and site expression.
