Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Rouge 2022

Sylvain Pataille is a leading voice in Marsannay, farming biodynamically and vinifying with precision across 15 hectares. His 2022 Marsannay Rouge blends fruit from multiple old-vine parcels on limestone scree and clay soils, many planted between 1950 and 1980. Farming is meticulous, with low yields and horse-tillage.

The wine is fermented with native yeasts and about 30% whole clusters, then aged 12 months in mostly neutral oak and 6 months in tank. It’s a bright, mineral-driven Pinot Noir with fine structure and clarity—an articulate snapshot of northern Côte de Nuits terroir.
